Terms of service
Last updated 6 November 2026
These terms are an agreement between the business that installs Heatwave (“you”) and PixelFox Group AB (559335-1157), Sweden (“we”, “us”). By installing or using Heatwave, you accept them. If you’re accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm that you’re authorised to do so.
1. The service
Heatwave is a Shopify app that records anonymous shopper behaviour on your online store and turns it into heatmaps, session recordings, behaviour patterns, page speed reports and AI-generated recommendations (“the Service”). The features and limits of each plan are described on our pricing page and in the app.
2. Your account
You need an active Shopify store to use Heatwave. You’re responsible for everything done through your Shopify account in the app, and for keeping your Shopify credentials secure. Tell us promptly at support@wearepixelfox.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
3. Plans, billing and cancellation
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Shopify’s billing system, in the currency Shopify uses for your store. Shopify’s billing terms also apply.
- Each plan includes a monthly number of tracked visits and recordings. Heatwave spreads them across the month by tracking a share of visits. If you reach a limit, collection pauses until the next billing period. We never charge overage fees.
- You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time in the app. Changes take effect according to Shopify’s billing rules. Fees already paid aren’t refunded, except where the law requires it or we decide otherwise.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice. The change applies from your next billing period after the notice period, and you can cancel before then.
4. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- use Heatwave only for your own stores and in line with applicable law, including data protection and consumer protection law
- tell your shoppers that you use Heatwave, for example in your store’s privacy policy, and keep a cookie banner in place where the law requires one
- not use Heatwave to identify individual shoppers, collect sensitive data, or track people on pages they’d reasonably expect to be private
- not reverse engineer, overload, resell or misuse the Service, or interfere with other customers’ use of it
5. Data
Your data stays yours. You own the data collected on your stores (“Customer Data”). We process it only to provide and improve the Service and as described in our Privacy policy and Data Processing Agreement, which forms part of these terms. We don’t sell Customer Data or use it to train AI models.
We may use aggregated, anonymous statistics that can’t identify you, your store or any shopper, for example to measure performance or improve our detection rules.
When you uninstall the app, Customer Data is deleted within 48 hours of Shopify’s deletion request. You can also delete it at any time in the app.
6. AI recommendations
Recommendations are generated automatically from measured data and are suggestions, not guarantees. Review them before making changes to your store. You’re responsible for the changes you make and their results.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep Heatwave available and reliable, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted service. We may carry out maintenance and improve, change or remove features. If we remove a material feature of a paid plan, we’ll give you reasonable notice, and you may cancel.
8. Intellectual property
We own Heatwave, including its software, design and content. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service while your subscription is active. Feedback you send us may be used to improve Heatwave without obligation to you.
9. Warranties and liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose.
To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability under these terms in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us during that period. These limits don’t apply to liability that can’t be limited by law, such as liability for gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
10. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Heatwave at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms and don’t fix the breach within 14 days of our notice, or immediately if needed to prevent harm or comply with the law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes, we’ll notify you in the app or by email at least 30 days in advance. If you keep using Heatwave after the change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Swedish law, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are settled by Swedish courts, with Stockholm District Court (Stockholms tingsrätt) as the court of first instance. This doesn’t limit any mandatory rights you have under the law of your own country.
